Explosives and fireworks

An explosive refers to an explosive substance as such or any object or device containing an explosive substance. Examples of these include extraction explosives and ignition devices, intended for company and private use, gunpowder and ammunition made for military purposes. 


A firework is a pyrotechnical device made for entertainment purposes.  Most of the fireworks imported into Finland are made in China.


Tukes attends to the market supervision of fireworks and explosives, acts as the authority in approving Divisions, acts as the importation supervisory authority. Tukes also attends  the approval of explosives transfer certificates (EU).
