Articles of precious metals

All articles of gold, silver, platinum and palladium available for sale must meet the requirements laid out in the Act on Articles of Precious Metals and the Government Decree with regard to minimum content of pure precious metal and other characteristics (alloys, coating/plating of products, filling, etc.). Products shall bear at least two hallmarks: a responsibility mark registered by Tukes and a fineness mark. Articles inspected by an independent third party also bear an assay mark. Articles of precious metals may also bear a date letter or locality mark.


The stamping of light articles of precious metals is not mandatory. The weight limit for gold, palladium and platinum articles is 1 g and for silver articles 10 g.
