CE markings in electrical appliances

The CE marking in electrical equipment shows that the appliance meets the essential safety requirements of the Low Voltage Directive. The CE marking also indicates the appliance's electromagnetic compatibility in accordance with the EMC Directive. The EMC Directive requires that electrical appliances must not generate unreasonable interference in any other devices and that they must also tolerate reasonable levels of outside interference.

The CE marking is the manufacturer's assurance that the product meets the requirements set by the EU.
