Prefabricated fireplaces

The term prefabricated fireplaces denotes fireplaces permanently connected to a flue, e.g. open fireplaces and sauna stoves designed to use solid fuel. Prefabricated fireplaces fall within the scope of the Construction Products Regulation, and their conformity with requirements shall be shown with a harmonised product standard and CE marking. The most up-to-date lists of the harmonised EN standards on prefabricated fireplaces can be found on the hEN Helpdesk website, by using advanced search and choosing CEN/TC 191 as the TC group.

Flues connected to prefabricated fireplaces are not within the scope of the Rescue Service Equipment Act, but it is laid down in the National Building Code of Finland E3 (Suomen rakentamismääräyskokoelma E3) that the suitability of prefabricated chimneys and flue products for their intended purpose shall be indicated by the CE marking.
