Introduction

Introduction comprises the actions relating to the transfer into operation of pressure equipment or assemblies.

Inspection bodies (notified bodies) review the plan for the placement of the pressure equipment and conduct the first periodic inspection of pressure equipment subject to registration in connection with introduction. The pressure equipment is registered in the first periodic inspection. The final stage assessments and introduction inspections of some pressure equipment and assemblies overlap in time with e.g. review of the plan of placement. The inspection body shall provide Tukes with information on the first periodic inspection, subsequent periodic inspections, rescheduling of inspections and modification inspections.

Importer or seller refers to the party placing the pressure equipment on the market in Finland. In carrying out market supervision, Tukes may turn to the importer or seller in matters involving obligations on the manufacturer pursuant to pressure equipment statutes, and when the importer or seller is also the party placing the pressure equipment on the market in Finland. In some cases, the owner of the pressure equipment is also its importer.

Tukes acts as supervisory authority in the introduction of pressure equipment.
