Non-automatic Weighing Instruments Directive (NAWI) 2009/23/EC (previously 90/384/EEC)

The so-called NAWI directive concerning non-automatic weighing instruments sets requirements on weighing instruments marketed and taken into service in the European Economic Area. The directive was codified in 2009, and given a new reference number.

You can find the requirements of the NAWI Directive in Decree 400/2012 (in finnish).

WELMEC has prepared several guides on applying the NAWI Directive to assist in the interpretation of the Directive’s requirements.  The WELMEC guides in no way replace the stipulations of the Directive, but the European Commission has approved their use as assistance in interpreting the stipulations.
