CE marking

The manufacturer or a representative of the manufacturer must affix a CE marking to the construction product on the basis of either a harmonised standard or a European technical approval (ETA) granted to the construction product.

By affixing a CE marking to the construction product, the manufacturer declares that the product is in accordance with the relevant harmonised standard or the European technical approval. In certain cases the obligations of manufacturers apply also to importes and distributors, see Economic operators.

CE-marking of a building product is not a quality mark nor does it indicate official approval. The fitness for use of a CE-marked building product shall be assessed in relation to the reguirements set for the construction works.
